HydroBell usage
HydroBell has two sensing devices:
These devices can either be used separately or simultaneously. Therefore, a single unit can monitor two locations at the same time.
The main unit monitors flat surfaces for the presence of water (usually the floor). Place HydroBell on the surface to monitor, its speaker grill facing up. Ensure that both metal probes are in direct contact with said surface.
Washing machines, dishwashers, ice makers, water heaters and softeners etc. can often cause water damage. In order to minimize this risk, place a HydroBell unit at the foot of each appliance. It will monitor that location 24/7 for leaks and alert you as soon as a film of water enters in contact with the stainless steel probes.
HydroBell starts floating and continues sounding if the water level reaches 1 inch (25 mm) or more.
The remote sensor monitors the critical level of water in containers such as bathtubs, whirlpools, sump pump pits, cisterns etc. Position and secure the remote sensor at the maximum level that water is allowed to reach and connect the other end of the wire to the jack on the main unit.
Failing control mechanisms of sump pumps, fish tanks, cisterns etc. are often the cause of flooding by overflowing. Use the remote sensor to be warned when water reaches an abnormal level in the monitored vessels.
HydroBell is fully functional as soon as a battery is connected to it. The unit does not consume any energy while monitoring, thus extending the battery life to its maximum. (How to set-up)
This handy alarm can be used to avoid disruptions caused by escaping water in homes, offices or in light industrial environments. Do not use to detect the presence of flammable or detonating substances.
